Mom’s weekend is next month, April 13th, 14th, and 15th. We hope you are planning on visiting the WSU campus and attending our AXO Parents meeting on Saturday morning. WSU is continually updating the school website with activities, so please check http://momsweekend.wsu.edu for a complete list.
The AXO Parents Club meeting will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the house. This is always an important meeting because it is election time for new officers. At each spring meeting a new President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary are elected for the new school year. Please consider volunteering for one of the offices as they are critical to the future success of the Omega Chapter Parents Club. For more details, please refer to the by-laws posted on the Parent’s Club blog.
At the conclusion of our official meeting and election of new officers, we will begin the auction which helps replenish our club treasury. Our funds are used to upgrade and/or replace furnishings for the AXO house. There will be a list of ideas presented to us for review and discussion before voting at the meeting. Our treasurer, Becky Andersohn will present the treasury report to assist us when voting how best to allocate funds for our next project.
We truly appreciate every parent who participates, supports the Parents Club with their donations and willingness to purchase items at the auctions. The Mom’s and Dad’s weekend auctions are our major source of income, so thank you in advance!
I will be representing the Omega Chapter Parents Club on a newly formed “Parents Club Task Force” organized by Kassie Kissinger, Director of Lifetime Engagement at AXO headquarters. I’m sure our parents club is being represented due to the fact that we have a wonderful group of caring, committed parents both past and present. Our first meeting will be a conference call on March 21st and I will be updating everyone at the Saturday morning meeting.
The AXO activities are currently in the planning stages. We will be providing more details prior to the weekend. So for now, get your Kelly Clarkson tickets and prepare for a fun and memorable weekend.
